In an unprecedented act of defiance this morning, a remembrance poppy has refused to be pinned to the lapel of Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The poppy, a long-standing symbol of honour for Britain’s fallen heroes, reportedly “tensed its stem” and refused attachment, citing “conscientious objections.”
Sources close to the plastic emblem say it objects the Labour Party’s attitude treatment of veterans, who continue to be penalised for carrying out orders in previous conflicts. It also expressed concerns about the growing persecution and imprisonment of Brits who express opinions he doesn’t like online, or engage in peaceful protest.
“I’d rather be stitched onto the jumpsuit of someone he’s jailed for their patriotism,” the poppy added.
